2021 Summer Camps for Rising 9th – 12th Graders
William Peace University Summer Camps offer immersive learning experiences in a variety of disciplines with leading experts in their fields.
DaTES: JULY 12 – 15, 2021 from 9 AM to 4 PM
COST: $400 per week

Students that have participated on our Summer Camps have had the opportunity to come and experience our beautiful campus in downtown Raleigh for our immersive learning programs. Our small camp size provides the benefit of individualized attention from the brilliant faculty leading the camps. This one-credit hour camp will get them started in earning credit toward their college degree!

Pay My Deposit
Your camper will be officially registered once we receive a deposit of $200 and a signed waiver form.All balances are due by Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

All parents/guardians must submit a signed waiver for their camper(s). Please download the waiver here and sign and return electronically before the beginning of camp to: summercamps@peace.edu. Please put your camper’s full name and the word waiver in the subject line.

Documenting Downtown Raleigh
Faculty: Ms. Marti Maguire, Assistant Professor of Communication
Camp size: 15 students, maximum
Learn about Raleigh’s development while creating a multimedia website that sheds light on the changing face of Downtown Raleigh. Students will hone their skills in researching and writing for publication, as well as creating multimedia content such as a podcast, videos and interactive graphics.
The Art of Songwriting
Faculty: Matt Hodge, MFA, Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre
Camp size: 15 students, maximum
Learn the art of songwriting in this immersive and engaging camp! Spend a week being mentored and guided by a professional composer through the process of composing music and crafting lyrics, all culminating in a performance presentation of the students’ original music. No music or performance experience needed; all levels of experience are welcome!
No prior music knowledge or experience required. Students at all levels are welcome.
Sports and Spirituality in Pursuit of Human Happiness – A Design Thinking Approach
Faculty: Dr. Christopher Born
Camp size: 15 students, maximum
Someone once said: “You can learn everything you need to know about life through the sport of baseball.” Have you felt the same? How does Lebron James use a meditation app to achieve his incredible success on the court? Join this camp to find out! Join WPU faculty and fellow students as you explore the role of sports, games, and spirituality in the pursuit of human happiness and connection. Students will seek out experiences of flow and meditation, collective effervescence, new insights and embark on a design-thinking approach to develop their own activities and findings.

- Payment PoliciesCamp deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable and will hold your child’s space in the camp until the balance is due on Tuesday June 15, 2021. If the remaining balance is not paid in full by the invoice deadline, your child’s seat in the camp will be cancelled and offered to another camper on the waiting list. You can choose to pay the entire amount or just the non-refundable deposit upon registration. In order to be fair to all our valued campers and parents, no exceptions can be made to this policy.
Payment refunds (except for the non-refundable deposit) will be made up to 14 days before the start of the camp for cancellations. After that time, no refunds can be made. When camps are full, we can put you on a waiting list. Please be sure we have your current email address so that you will receive updates from us.

Camper’s Agreement
As a summer camp participant, I promise to:
- Treat my fellow campers and staff with kindness, respect, and cooperation in my words and actions at all times and NOT use bullying words or behavior or disrupt the camp experience of others (review all information on bullying and related consequences below).
- Seek help from my camp director and staff in resolving conflict especially if it is something I do not feel I can resolve on my own.
- Respect the property of the university buildings as well as other people’s property
- Notify my camp director or staff immediately if I witness a violation of this policy.
